Rachel Collier-Wilson is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is grounded in a love of drawing. Characterised by a bold, expressive line, their work spans painting, printmaking, and wire sculpture, navigating the intersections of gender identity, sexuality, and lived experience.
Holding a BA (Hons) from Central Saint Martins and an MA in Fine Art from Norwich University of the Arts, Rachel combines printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculptural media with contemporary, Queer ideologies. Their practice balances the raw authenticity of narrative portraiture with illustrative, symbolic depictions of wildlife and nature. By elevating marginalised subjects, whether the creatures of the urban landscape or the lives of the LGBTQ+ community, their work subverts traditional hierarchies of beauty, authority, and worth.
Unifying their work is an energetic, distinctive graphic line that creates visual spaces where vulnerability and defiance coexist. Their work has been exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, including in Boston and Auckland.of wildlife with narrative portraiture, Rachel’s art is unified by an energetic and distinctive line.
